The following are terms of a legal agreement between you and Pleasant Homes Ltd. By accessing, browsing and/or using this website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree, to be bound by these terms and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Our Contract

These Terms and Conditions govern the supply of services sold by Pleasant Homes Ltd to the customer named on the order form/email order provided. Together with the completed order form for our services or confirmation emails for our services, these Terms and Conditions constitute the entire and only agreement between us in relation thereto. Our acceptance of your order by payment of a deposit for services, constitutes a legally binding contract between us on these terms and conditions.

 

Price, Payment Options & VAT

An initial Home visit is £55.00 and is payable at the point of booking.

The price payable for the services you order is as set out in the initial bespoke quote emailed to you. Once accepted and a start date set, this is followed by an invoice for all the agreed work. 50% is payable 21 days prior to the date the work commences, with the balance due on the day of completion of the work.

With specific regard to Home staging work, where notice times are typically shorter, we would have a free call and I would ask you to email me over some phone photos of the main rooms, to give me idea of the time we would need, but I do not anticipate that an initial home visit would be needed as you will have already been visited by an estate agent, who can also brief me. I would estimate the time needed, which would be a minimum of 3 hours and obviously longer for larger houses. At the point of booking the date, I would expect 50% payment upfront, with the balance paid on completion of the work on the day.

 

All prices are inclusive of VAT and you can make payment online via the wix.com secure payment portal with either a credit or debit card. If you would prefer you can call me Pauline Purves on 07775 728447 and make the payment over the phone which I will then process securely for you, or make a bank transfer to Pleasant Homes Ltd if you have online banking. I can give you the bank account details over the phone. Once payment has been processed/received into the account you will be sent a confirmation.

 

Cancellation Policy/ Deposit payments

We understand that everyone is busy and we are flexible where we can be, but please note before booking that we reserve the right to apply the following terms and conditions from the start time of the booking date:

Deposit and Payments

  • We require a 50% non-refundable deposit due either 21 days in advance of the booking date (excluding for home staging), or immediately, if the booking is initiated within 21 days of the start date for the work to commence.

  • Bookings are not considered confirmed until the booking form is completed and received, the terms & conditions are signed and the deposit is made.

  • An invoice for the deposit and the terms & conditions for signature, will be emailed to your email address, unless otherwise specified.

  • Full payment for services is due strictly upon completion of works.

Postponed or Cancelled Bookings

  • Under the Consumer Contracts Regulation 2013, you have the right to cancel this contract within the 14 days “cooling off period” from signing these Terms and Conditions. No penalties will be enforced and any deposit paid will be refunded in full.

  • After the 14 days 'cooling off' period, if you postpone your booking more than 14 days in advance of the booking date, your deposit will be carried over to a re-scheduled booking, as long as it is within one month.

  • If you postpone your booking less than 7 days in advance of the booking date, your deposit will be carried over to a re--scheduled booking within a month, but you will be charged an additional £100 administrative fee.

  • If you postpone or cancel your booking less than 2 working days in advance of the booking date, your deposit will not be refunded.

 

Important Note

  • Any business in terms of compliance and for its own protection, has to have terms and conditions. If work is booked, we may need to refuse other bookings, therefore a late cancellation, means that we lose business and money. Naturally, I understand there are sometimes circumstances that may need to be dealt with sensitively, and anyone is welcome to contact me at any point to discuss a specific issue at pauline.purves@pleasanthomes.co.uk or on 07775 728447. Life happens, and I will always try to be considerate and reasonable.

  • Due to the nature of our work we have a strict ‘No Returns’ policy once work is completed. However, we want all our clients to be happy, so while I am 100% confident that you will not be disappointed with the work that we do for you, I would be happy for an initial call on 07775 728447 to discuss any issues.

  • All Rights Reserved. The copying, modification, distribution, reproduction, or incorporation into any other work of part or all of the material available on this website in any form is prohibited.

  • These Terms and Conditions and your use of our website are governed by English and Welsh law and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts. This does not affect your non-excludable statutory rights. This website and our Terms and Conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law.

 

Children & Pets

  • Children under10 years old should either be at school, away on a school trip/holiday, being looked after elsewhere or being looked after by a responsible adult elsewhere in the house.

  • Children and pets should not be in the room where we are working at anytime. This is for their own health and safety. These are part of our terms and conditions and Pleasant Homes Ltd cannot take any responsibility for any accidents that occur if these conditions are breached.

 

Disclaimers

  1. Pleasant Homes Ltd offers guidance and encouragement to help in the decluttering and organisational process, but responsibility lies entirely with the client regarding which artefacts and possessions should remain and which can be disposed of by way of sale or auction.

  2. Pleasant Homes Ltd is not a valuer of art or antiques and cannot be held responsible for the client’s decisions made during the decluttering process. It is recommended the client engages a valuation expert for any applicable items prior to their removal from their home.

  3. Pleasant Homes Ltd will operate with utmost care and respect in your home or office. In the unlikely event there is any accidental damage, Pleasant Homes Ltd would expect the client to have the appropriate insurance to cover this. Pleasant Homes Ltd has Public and Products Liability insurance cover of up to £1million and Employers Liability insurance of up to £10 million.

  4. Pleasant Homes Ltd will not be responsible for the cost of repairing any pre-existing damage discovered during our assignment.

  5. Pleasant Homes Ltd personnel cannot lift heavy furniture or items nor carry out DIY tasks. The client should make suitable arrangements if such work is required. Any services or trades, whether recommended by Pleasant Homes Ltd or otherwise, are the client’s responsibility. Contractual arrangements should be drawn up directly between the client and the service provider in question.

  6. Pleasant Homes Ltd will advise on the best and environmentally safe way to dispose of items. However, it is up to the client to transport unwanted items to the various external sites such as charity shops, council recycling centre etc. In the event that a client requires items to be removed on their behalf, Pleasant Homes Ltd will provide a quote for vehicle hire which the client would need to pay for.

  7. Pleasant Homes Ltd may recommend products upon request but once again, the client would be expected to make the purchases themselves, and the contractual agreement would be between them and the seller.

  8. Pleasant Homes Ltd will not accept any responsibility for the additional trades’ performance nor any loss or damage incurred through their engagement. The client agrees to disclose in advance any information about their premises that could jeopardise the health or safety of any representative of Pleasant Homes Ltd.

  9. Pleasant Homes Ltd reserves the right to suspend or cancel an assignment in the event of a serious health & safety risk being discovered or which develops during the assignment.

  10. The client is aware that the services provided by Pleasant Homes Ltd are in no way to be construed as psychological counselling or therapy.
